Battery Echelon Utilization: Extending the Life of Electric Vehicle Batteries

It is estimated that cascade utilization of batteries can extend the service life of batteries by 6 to 30 years. But this period ultimately depends on how well the battery is used during the first application. Has this electric car ever been involved in an accident? What can be seen from the maintenance record of the vehicle? In addition, this granular health monitoring can also be applied where it is logically impossible to collect data: Are new or cascaded batteries properly stored in the warehouse? Did anything happen during shipping?

After use and reuse, all batteries are eventually broken down and recycled. Wireless BMS technology can characterize inventory information in large quantities without contact, helping to quickly make reuse or recycling decisions. Once a decision has been made to reuse or recycle, buyers and sellers can use health data (through technologies such as wireless BMS) to establish a normalized foundation of trust and fairly value the battery before agreeing to a sale price. The industry could even develop a rating standard that distinguishes less-used AAA-rated batteries from poorly maintained ones.
