The Engine Thermal Management System

The engine thermal management system is mainly composed of water pump, engine water jacket, thermostat, warm air, radiator and pipelines. The coolant in the radiator leak testing equipment is pumped into the engine water jacket through the water pump, and the coolant and the engine wall take away the heat generated by the engine combustion through heat exchange, thereby reducing the heat load of the engine and reducing its excessive temperature under heavy load conditions risks of. After the coolant flows out of the engine, it flows to the thermostat and the warm air radiator in two ways respectively. The warm air waterway is in a circulating state under any working conditions of the engine, so as to ensure that the driver can turn the engine off through the heat exchange of the warm air at any time according to the demand. The hot air of the coolant after the engine is warmed up is blown into the cab.

The engine drives the mechanical water pump to provide circulating power, and the thermostat controls the large and small cycle switching. When the engine temperature is low, the coolant goes through a small circulation to reduce heat dissipation, so that the water temperature leak test system can be quickly raised to the optimal temperature and the emission performance can be improved. When the temperature is high, the coolant circulates through the radiator and fan to increase the heat dissipation efficiency.

 

The electronic thermostat technology is similar to the traditional thermal management solution, the main difference is that the traditional mechanical thermostat is replaced by an electronic thermostat. The traditional thermostat soaks the temperature-sensitive paraffin structure in the engine coolant. When the temperature of the coolant rises, the paraffin expands and pushes the thermostat valve open, thereby opening the large circulation of the cooling system. The electronic thermostat sends a signal to the heating resistor through the ECU to realize the heating and expansion of the paraffin, thus starting the cooling cycle. Compared with the transmission thermostat, the electronic thermostat responds faster and has a wider temperature adjustment range.

 

In the traditional thermal management scheme, the water pump driven by the large cycle is a mechanical water pump. The mechanical water pump is driven by the V-ribbed belt of the engine crankshaft drive wheel system. When the speed ratio of the water pump pulley and the crankshaft pulley is determined, the speed of the water pump is completely determined by the engine speed. Therefore, the water pump The pumping capacity of the pump cannot fully match the engine load, and the flow can only be increased with the increase of the speed.

 

The electric water pump helium leak detection can fundamentally solve this problem. The electric water pump can be switched on and off by ECU control according to the different working conditions of the engine. Especially in the cold start stage of the engine, the electric water pump can stop pumping water, so that the internal coolant of the engine is in a small circulation. , to achieve rapid heating, in order to achieve the effect of rapid warm-up. On the other hand, the electric water pump can also be used in conjunction with the electronic thermostat to achieve better cooling control effects and achieve rapid warm-up.
